Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for a Principal Mechanical Engineer.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will

Principal Accountabilities:

• The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of new products and test hardware, as well as the improvement of existing products.
• The engineer will utilize their mechanical engineering expertise during the proposal and concept evaluation, product development, production, and qualification testing phases of new product design.
• The engineer will create design solutions that meet product requirements using 3-D CAD modeling software and will be hands-on supporting production, integration, and testing.
• The engineer will develop solutions which leverage commercial off the shelf (COTS) products paired with custom hardware.
• The engineer must be capable of researching and distilling information from vendors and collating information.
• The engineer shall perform design reviews, equipment integration, profiling, and testing.
• The engineer will provide leadership on mechanical issues to the project team, working closely with systems, electrical, and test engineers.
• In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate leverages strong verbal and written communication to adapt to a wide variety of high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.

Required Skills

• Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies
• Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred)
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, (ASME Y14.5 standards)
• Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments
• Experience capturing key characteristics & requirements for systems performing trade studies
• Must have strong teaming skills, and good communication skills.
• Proficient at one or more of Aircraft Structures Design, Ground Structures Design, Electronics Packaging, or Platform Integration Engineering Documentation Practices

Desired Skills:

• Design, integration, or test experience/understanding of any combination Airborne podded systems.
• Airborne armament equipment or alternate mission equipment, Cockpit displays, Avionics, Radar Systems, Mobile Ground Systems, Ground Vehicle Structures.
• Custom/COTS Electronics including wires, relays, and analog electronics.
• Design for human factors / safety Prototyping and agile methodology (quick turn solutions).
• Understanding manufacturing / fabrication of non-exotic materials.
• Understanding of structural design, CREO skills or ability to come up to speed quickly.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range: $62-$72 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
