Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the inventory on a daily basis by monitoring reports and investigating inventory discrepancies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain super user status as a PkMS user, with thorough functional knowledge of all aspects of it’s use in the warehouse
  • Develop and maintain quarterly cycle count schedule to meet all accounting and audit requirements. Manage the daily cycle counting activity necessary to meet the schedule.
  • Manage the annual physical inventory activity based on accounting requirements and instructions
  • Communicate and report to local management (and contacts in the accounting department) inventory control activity and results.
  • Direct and coordinate the Inventory Control staff to accomplish the following on a timely basis:
  • Reviews Inventory Discrepancies Report to research why OMS and PkMS inventory levels are not in sync with one another.
  • Perform cycle counts daily on exception items not shipped; derived from the previous day’s Inventory Exceptions report. Determine causes of exceptions and take corrective action.
  • Monitor transitional inventory on a daily basis. Correct all affected locations, determine cause of transitional, and take corrective action.
  • Review the Negative Active Inv. Report; cycle count to update inventory accuracy
  • Retrieve damaged items from designated areas of the DC; enter inventory adjustment in PkMS and transport items to the returns area for proper disposal.
  • Research and cycle count items called in as shortages from previous day’s orders. (Shipped but not received)
  • Investigate purchase order discrepancies for inventory received from vendors.
  • Select and print cycle count variance report; review for potential recounts based on quantity and/or dollar discrepancy thresholds.
  • Select and print cycle count audit report; review to track progress of designated cycle count schedule.
  • Select and print the lost in warehouse report; cycle count and/or search for inventory items that were not properly scanned to destination location.
  • Research and correct min/max quantities and missing locations as noted on receiving worksheet discrepancy report
  • Cycle Count and adjust inventory quantities as necessary Occasional use of forklift equipment – Certification is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises the Cycle Counters.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Associates Degree; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

A high degree of analytical thinking is required for this position. The Inventory Control Clerk must have an intimate working knowledge of all PkMS functions, including tracking case history for receiving pulling and shipping procedures of PkMS and OMS are essential.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software.

The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The occasional use of ladders is required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
