About the Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic personality who is focused on customer relations and sales.  The Regional Sales Engineer focuses on sales within the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry. This role serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services. You will be responsible for selling GEA’s centrifuge product portfolio into the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry in a specific market within the Southcentral USA.  Technologies include both Decanter and Disc Stack centrifuge equipment in the solid/liquid separation processes.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Establishes new accounts by reviewing market analyses and determining customer needs and potential sales to achieve order intake.
  • Communicates weekly with the Chem/Pharma market manager to establish territory sales focus and technical support requirements
  • Prepares and presents technical and sales presentations at industry seminars and to customers.
  • Assists with preparing cost estimates by reviewing project plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, designers, and other professional and technical personnel.
  • Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment for applications in customer processes
  • Overnight travel within the Southcentral portion of the USA, as well as, occasional trips to our headquarters in Germany
  • Assists with writing proposals, preparing and negotiating final contract including pricing terms and conditions.
  • Ensures clear communication and hand-off to project management team.
  • Participates in tradeshows and other marketing activities to increase sales volume.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Sales experience in the chemical/pharmaceutical market
  • Undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of recent involvement in the chemical/pharmaceutical market.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively communicate technical data and engineering systems
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Equipment sales experience
  • Houston, TX regional area living location
  • Technically capable of assisting service engineers in field testing
  • Applicant overnight travel approximately 2-3 nights per week
