Job Description

This role would be responsible for identifying and selecting suppliers, completing requests for quotes, issuing, and expediting orders, closing out purchase, and provide information/knowledge to co-workers & supervisors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and select primary and secondary suppliers.
  • Complete requests for quotes and negotiate procurement contracts.
  • Issue purchase orders and expedite orders.
  • Coordinate contract agreements between suppliers and NOV.
  • Verify the purchase orders and keep PO status up to date.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Apply best practices to maintain NOV guidelines regarding price, service, quality, and delivery.
  • Process "Return to Vendor" reports and rework Non-Conformance reports.
  • Initiate vendor chargeback and co-ordinate with various departments to process credit memos.
  • Manage "EPP" and "Oracle" systems.
  • Maintain standard cost of individual buy parts and outside services.
  • Process invoice discrepancies.
  • Participate in interdepartmental projects/activities as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-3 years' experience as a buyer/purchaser or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working within a QMS system of ISO 9001 and API Q1 an asset.
  • Experience with ERP system required.
  • APICS Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO, API, ASTM Material Standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of casting, forging, heat treatment process and raw material procurement preferred.
  • Knowledge of machining, special coating & other manufacturing processes preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office & ERP Systems, especially proficient in the use of Excel.
  • Strong Analytical skills, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple priorities and projects at the same time.
  • Ability to drive issues to closure and get job done in professional and compliant manner.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail & strong time management.
  • Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders, including but not limited to warehouse, logistics, planning, engineering, order management, and purchasing teams.
  • Ability to meet or exceed standards as established by the department.
