Role Summary

The Machinist is responsible for producing high-quality parts in accordance with the correct engineering drawing and appropriate work order cards. This will be accomplished by utilizing one or more conventional machine tools such as hobs, lathes, mills & grinders. This includes the movement and transport of materials by forklift, if properly trained and certified and adherence to all environmental, health & safety rules.

Essential Functions

• Operates machines and performs highly routine/repetitive work on parts and details where setups are made and maintained by others.
• Must make sure that all worked perform meets all dimensional tolerances.
• Work is performed under close supervision.
• Detailed instructions and guidance are provided on machine operations.
• Work is carried out following a detailed process.
• Performing minor preventive maintenance on machines.
• May be responsible for operating/maintaining other machines and equipment.

• Inspecting and measuring machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.

• Daily inspections of shop equipment.
• Keep all working areas & equipment safe and free of debris and oil.
• Comply with all EHS requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime.
• Basic computer skills.

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Able to work overtime during peak manufacturing periods.

• Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment at least 8 hours per day, primarily standing.
• Self-motivated and team player.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing field.
