GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Generate revenue by prospecting, generating leads, qualifying opportunities, proposing solutions, forecasting, and closing sales through the delivery of products and services to new and established accounts, protecting existing business and increasing market share

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to utilize strong communication and relationship building skills to meet with client's architects, interior designers and other consultants to influence specifications and product and service selection
  • Hunter mentality to identify new opportunities and to grow and cross sell within existing accounts, and identify potential clients from prospect lists, leads, established customers, referrals, or contacts developed through other sources
  • Represent the company's products and services to architects, interior designers, A&D firms, and other outside entities to influence specifications and product selection for our common client corporations
  • Interview potential and existing clients to determine furniture needs, budget, current inventory and time requirements for delivery
  • Become an expert in public presentations, furniture product expertise and specifications to provide clients with information and advice on purchase of furniture and related products
  • Cultivate relationships with key client contacts and buying influencers to understand and identify the client’s strategic vision, objectives and needs while aligning our products and services where business opportunities exist
  • Create quotes and/or sales orders and submit to support personnel along with preparing drawings as required for installation department
  • Track all sales data and follow sales orders through order, delivery, installation, punch and billing cycles, working collaboratively with client and field services teams to fulfill client requirements (order placement, design, project management, invoicing, etc.)
  • Create and maintain a business plan for continued growth of market share and account volume including establishing metrics for your territory; develop accurate projections and consistently prove ability to meet and/or exceeds quarterly and annual revenue quotas
  • Establish account strategies to achieve sales targets; coordinate necessary resources in the execution of sales strategies; penetrate specific target accounts
  • Participate in professional networking activities

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in an outside sales role calling on a varied client base required
  • 3+ years successful documented sales

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent written, oral communications skills

OTHER/PREFERRED:

  • Ability to work without supervision (after training period)
  • Proven organizational and problem solving skills as well as the ability to collaborate and negotiate
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and build long term relationships with customers/partners (particularly at senior decision-making levels within an organization) as well as internal team members
  • Office furniture dealer experience preferred
