Job Description:

The Operations Analyst will partner with the various departments to ensure cost effective transportation, fleet and operational expenses are implemented and tracked and reported on a consistent basis. The analyst will use data to help the organization make strategic operational decisions through analysis and help guide the organization as it continues to grow.

Primary responsibilities include analyzing data, trends, and costs. Designing dashboards for various stakeholders. Will assist with optimizing scheduling and routing, analyzing the supply chain, analyzing fleet and equipment data spend and trends. Create presentations of data gathered in a concise and thoughtful manner.

Essential Duties:

  • Analyze actual spend vs budgeted spend related to transportation & fleet & operations costs and explain volume/price analysis and variances
  • Forecast transportation & fleet & other operations related spend categories
  • Influence various stakeholders within the organization to improve logistical spend and potential savings
  • Track & analyze demurrage and detention costs & develop solutions to reduce costs
  • Problem solve and design solutions for HCC’s transportation & fleet network with input from within the organization
  • Identify, design, develop, support, and communicate improvement opportunities with appropriate business case justifications
  • Assist with setting up Capital Asset Request forms
  • Analyze large sets of data and effectively communicate results to Management
  • Exercise Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & BI tools
  • Anticipate transportation, fleet and operational related requirements based upon usage rates
  • Maintain effective relationships with key internal/external stakeholders. Seek to continuously improve the solutions we provide

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years’ analytical experience in Operations/Logistics/Transportation/Fleet or related field
  • Experience establishing key performance indicator metrics
  • Must exhibit outstanding customer service skills
