Job Title: Clay Milling Machinist

We are currently looking for a person to work with our Physical Modelers and Studio Engineers. The candidate should be prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering the studio and physical modeling. The role supports the Product Design team, enhancing their effectiveness in both the conceptual early phases of projects and the technically intensive development phases. The ability to engage in spontaneous dialogue around ideas and concepts with a technical perspective is necessary.

Hard Skills

• Competence in Mastercam with a minimum of 10 years of experience
• Knowledge of Catia (an asset)
• Experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining precision milling machines
• Performing tool selections
• Maintaining equipment and ensuring CAD data is complete for milling components
• Designing armatures
• Experience with 3D printing, clay model work, and painting (assets)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Ability to own given tasks and proactively move forward with a clearly defined plan
• Proposing engineering design solutions in support of the Design team
• Building cooperation among individuals and departments
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and visual)
• Dependability and reliability in following through on commitments
• Flexibility to perform a wide range of tasks and respond to changes in direction and priorities
• Ability to juggle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Self-motivation and ability to work alone and in teams
• Willingness to speak out and share ideas
