Summary:
Responsible for using sonography equipment to produce quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care. Typically works under the direction of or in partnership with Sonographer II or attending cardiologist).

Responsibilities:
* Performs inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
* Responsible for performing and archiving calculations for reporting of all pediatric ultrasound imaging.
* Performs complete studies on new patients per the ASE for congenital heart patients; downloads studies and provides calculations for reports per guidelines.
* Assist in performing Transesophegeal Echocardiograms
* Assist in Research studies when appropriate.
* Must be Certified in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI within first year of employment

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 1 year job related experience Preferred

EDUCATION
* Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Certified in 1 one of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular Preferred
* Certified in the following: Pediatric Preferred
* Must be Certified in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI within 24 months of employment (ARDMS is preferred over CCI) Required.
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Required
