Unit Specific Information
Unit Description: First to float, no call, 1:5-6 nurse patient ratio
Acute care interventional telemetry medical surgical unit
32 private beds
Acuity ranges from moderate to high (frequent neuro checks)
Patient population includes acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, encephalopathy, brain mass, hemicraniectomy, other neurological/neurosurgical diagnoses
No ventilated patients
Heparin, argatroban, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, ketamine drips are common
