Wages starting at $30.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Higher starting pay for experienced and certified mechanics - depending on experience level. This position would include a company service vehicle for business and commute purposes, no personal use. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an experienced individual to fill a position as a FIELD MECHANIC. This position will service a variety of quarry equipment and construction equipment throughout the greater Middle Tennessee market.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This role requires significant previous experience as a mechanic working on heavy equipment.
  • The role will be responsible for performing repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of quarry and construction equipment and trucks.
  • The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Minimum of three year of experience working on heavy equipment.
  • Perform heavy or major maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
  • Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
  • Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment.
  • Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
  • Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
  • Weekend work/overtime may be required.
  • Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 70lbs.
  • Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet.
  • Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
