About the position
The Project Manager provides overall direction for Building Automation Controls projects specific to HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) systems. This role is remote with no travel, but it may require off hours. Project Managers have overall bottom-line responsibility for profit and loss, and consequently carry the authority appropriately. Project Managers provide technical and engineering support as required by the projects needed.
Day in the life
  • Oversee total construction and design effort (if applicable) to ensure project is constructed in accordance with project scope, budget and timeline.
  • Act as a liaison to coordinate communication between both internal and external members on the project including, but not limited to: Clients, General Contractors, Subcontractors, Superintendents, General Foremen, and union officials.
  • Authorize and/or approve all project staff transactions including choice of superintendent, general foremen, foremen, staff volume and wages.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling and any applicable engineering functions.
  • Participate in estimating projects and writing bid proposals.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions, payment approvals; send invoices and change order requests.
  • Assists in the implementation/interpretation of corporate safety programs and ensures OSHA guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure that all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to and interpret the policies.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all official project documentation and logs.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of labor agreements and standards specific to projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Construction Management or equivalent in job experience.
  • Proficiency in Building Automation Control Systems (HVAC/R) such as Honeywell or Johnson Controls.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ensures maximum quality of work throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Knowledge of general sitework and utility installation standard practices particularly as they apply to excavation and concrete construction.
