Position Overview: Physical Therapist

The role of Physical Therapist primarily involves offering outpatient rehabilitation services in an at-home environment to the elderly population. Ranging from private residences to rooms within independent living facilities, Powerback Rehabilitation To You allows you, as a Physical Therapist, to evaluate and treat patients in their most functional and comfortable environments. Through the implementation of individualized therapy programs, you will restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance, while also educating patients and caregivers about skills that promote independence and productivity to mitigate or correct existing medical conditions. Responsibilities:

1. Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support personnel per state licensure requirements and professional standards.
2. Maintaining adherence to patient treatment schedules, documentation deadlines (both clinical and billing), and participating in work meetings.
3. Participation in patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings.
4. Making referrals to other agencies to meet patient's comprehensive care needs.
5. Collaborating with other members of the rehabilitation team to choose the most suitable therapeutic regimen for each patient.
6. Adapting programs or care plans according to individual patient needs.
7. Ensuring a safe environment by eliminating fire and safety hazards.
8. Ordering necessary supplies and equipment.
9. Cleaning, maintaining, and identifying and reporting required repairs of equipment.
10. Prioritizing patient service, ensuring they and their families receive premium care in a compassionate environment.
11. Patient screening, examination, and evaluation.
12. Usage of therapeutic techniques including but not limited to therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy, integumentary protection, and use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities, among others.
13. Customizing and fitting adaptive devices, and training patients in their usage.
14. Instructing patients in mobility activities and adjusting treatment based on progress, attitudes, and behavior of the patient.
15. Incorporating health and wellness programming into treatment plans.
16. Performing home and community mobility evaluations, providing recommendations for safe mobility at home and in the community.
17. Carrying out other related duties as required.

Requirements:

- Valid Physical Therapy license in the state of practice or proof of license eligibility.
- Must possess a Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
- Alternatively, they could have a Master's degree in a field related to Physical Therapy and a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
- Or a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy along with five years of progressively responsible PT experience.
- Any Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy in the U.S.
- Must have a driver's license or a reliable mode of transportation to and from the patients' residence.
