SUMMARY & SCOPE:
The Assistant Stylist role involves interaction with clients, consultation on their hair care requirements, and the recommendation of suitable products and services. This temporary position aims to cultivate the talents necessary for a stylist role and the delivery of quality professional services with a focus on the customer's complete look. Under the guidance of an Elite or Master Stylist for the first three months, the Assistant Stylist focuses on delivering results (increased revenues and maximum productivity), people-pleasing (customer service), and maintaining process standards (operational procedures and compliance). During months 4-6, the Assistant Stylist continues to assist but also begins servicing their own clients. The job demands passion for the beauty sector, exceptional customer service, and the ability and eagerness to learn additional technical skills and product knowledge.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance:
- Providing extraordinary customer service.
- Supporting the mentor Stylist in exceeding sales and productivity objectives.
- Delivering services like hair design, haircuts, color, texture, hair treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications from month four.
People
- Building customer relationships through consultations and appropriate service recommendations.
- Developing partnerships with skincare professionals and the retail team for a collaborative guest experience.
Process
- Maintaining compliance with Ulta Beauty's protocols and standards.
- Adhering to safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
- Utilizing booking systems to arrange appoints and for events.
- Keeping the salon, sales floor, and break areas clean and organized.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Cosmetology license
Skills:
- Basic understanding of salon techniques for hair and makeup applications
- Developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build a strong client base.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Frequent movement, bending, reaching, and twisting during shifts.
- Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs during shifts.
- Long periods of standing.
- Continuous use of office and cosmetology supplies.
