  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
    Job Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience - must be recent, within the past 6 months
  • Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer, through RELIAS, only (with 2 MAX attempts)
  • There is also a PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation (study guides will be provided with first day instructions)
  • MUST HAVE a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years
  • Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters
  • Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical
  • Nurses must be able to read & interpret strips
    Schedule Information
  • 12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a)
  • Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time
  • 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule
  • Rotate in with the perm staff
  • No call required
    Unit Specific Information
  • CRMC 60 ED Beds, MGMC 31 ED Beds
  • Ratios: 1 to 4
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone
  • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: ED charge nurse
  • Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: ED PCTs available
  • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): No Vents
  • Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? No monitor tech in the ED
  • Floating Requirements: Would float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and CRMC/MGMC Eds as needed
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy
  • Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus
    Additional Details
  • Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital
  • May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medication administration
  • Will not be asked to be primary RN for ED patient assignment
