  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
    Job Details
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in telemetry required, must be current within the last 6 months.
  • Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam through RELIAS within 48 hours of receiving offer (2 attempts maximum).
  • Mandatory PASS/FAIL SIM LAB on the first day of orientation (study guides provided with first day instructions).
  • Nurses to care for patients from the ER waiting on a bed in the hospital, primarily MS/Tele patients.
    Job Requirements
  • Strong cardiac telemetry background preferred, with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to decrease cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters.
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
    Schedule Information
  • 12-hour shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a)
  • Ability to self-schedule, subject to change at times.
  • Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule.
  • Holiday rotation with permanent staff.
  • No call required.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Nurse to patient ratios of 1 to 4.
  • Nurses will primarily care for MS/Tele patients.
  • No Vents on the unit.
  • Nurses must interpret telemetry; no monitor tech in the ED.
  • Navy colored scrubs/dress code.
  • 2 shifts orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus.
  • Would float to Med/Surg/Tele/Overflow units and CRMC/MGMC EDs as needed.
  • Common titratable/set rate drips include Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone.
  • Support from ED charge nurse and ED patient care technicians (PCTs) available.
    Additional Details
  • Travelers may be asked to assist with ED patients, including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration (not as primary RN for ED patient assignments).
