What's in it for you? - Commuting: 50% discount on MBTA passes - Medical, Dental & Vision insurance: Starts day 1 - PTO: up to 30 days annually new hires including hospital holidays - Retirement: A hospital funded pension plus a 403(b) with company match Reporting to the Radiography Quality Assurance Manager, the QA Specialist assists with the Radiography Quality Assurance program: collects data, implements new techniques and protocols, reviews, and updates existing radiography protocols. Assists in providing education to the staff in-person and via staff meetings and online modules. Ensures content is based on the principle of delivering care appropriate of all patient groups. Collaborates with the Quality Assurance Manager, staff, and radiologists to ensure exam protocols, patient care processes and image quality are optimized. Assists in the oversite of DR equipment quality control processes. Assists in third party accreditation processes such as the Joint Commission and DPHinspections. Participates in a dose monitoring program with medical physicists, radiologists, and managers. Required to work a minimum of one clinical day per week. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Demonstrates proficiency in all radiography and fluoroscopy equipment, techniques, and procedures. This includes main campus and off campus imaging site equipment. - Collects and analyzes quantitative and qualitative statistical data and work with vendors to resolve technical problems - Assimilates new radiography equipment and software - Interfaces with approximately 120 technologists from main campus and off-campus locations - Collaborates with staff technologists, managers and radiologists and ensures exam protocols, patient care processes and image quality are optimized - Functions as a technologist to maintain optimal direct patient care skills as well as maintain imaging skills - Creates, reviews and updates Healthstream training modules - Assists in maintaining written protocols, ensures protocols are accurate and accessible for staff technologists - Assists in pilot imaging projects with goals of improving image quality while reducing patient radiation exposure - Assist in oversite of regulatory requirements: The Joint Commission (JC), Massachusetts State Radiation Control, and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: - Effective communication and i nterpersonal skills both verbal and written are necessary to interact effectively with technologists, managers, and radiologists to execute a successful radiography quality assurance program, support department policies and procedures, as well as provide comfort and instruction to patients and their families - Analytical skills necessary to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data, maintain properly operating equipment, and resolve technical problems - Knowledge of DR image production,image processing and how they are affected by technical factors, patient habitus and acuity - Accurately assess’ radiography image quality and consistency - Strong computer skills: power point, excel, Microsoft office / Teams - Ability to travel to imaging sites as required - Strong planning and organizational skills - Maintains a high standard of professionalism - Knowledge of anatomy and exam specific criteria - Knowledge of the principles of radiation physics and radiation safety Required: - MA state license - Valid Driver’s License - ARRT - CPR - Some college or Associate's - Minimum of five years Radiography experience
