Position Description: The Department of Psychology at Harvard University invites applications for a Preceptor in Quantitative Psychology to teach required and elective undergraduate statistics courses. Core instructional responsibilities include teaching the undergraduate Introduction to Statistics course, offered each semester. The Preceptor will also have the opportunity to develop a specialized statistics or methods-focused tutorial within an area of expertise and interest, to be offered once per year. In addition to offering courses, the Preceptor will provide statistical consultation for faculty and undergraduate and graduate students on their research projects. The Preceptor may be asked to direct and evaluate senior theses and to advise students on research and career interests.
This is a full-time position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The initial appointment is for three years, with the second and third years contingent upon a successful performance review after the first year, followed by a term of up to five years, contingent upon performance, enrollments, curricular need, position availability, and authorization of the divisional dean.

Basic Qualifications: Candidates are required to have a PhD or an equivalent terminal degree in Psychology or very closely related field (e.g., Cognitive Science, Statistics, EdD in Human Development) by the expected start date. Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate students.

Additional Qualifications: A strong background in teaching and research and commitment to equitable and inclusive teaching. A high level of competence and a demanding combination of academic, administrative, organizational, managerial, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience designing courses strongly preferred.
