Cardiovascular Staff Perfusionist Massachusetts General Hospital Boston, MA Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), located in Boston, MA currently has an opportunity for a Perfusionist to join a team of 20 Perfusionists and 3 Mechanical Assist Specialists. Candidates must be American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) certified or eligible for ABCP certification at the time of employment. This position offers tremendous opportunity for professional growth and encouragement to pursue interests in the realm of Perfusion as well as other clinical areas. The MGH Cardiac Surgical team is comprised of cutting edge innovators and world-renowned legends in the field. Our Chief of Cardiac Surgery has been a vocal advocate for teamwork, effective communication and safety for over a decade and the entire Cardiac Surgery service functions with these tenets at the core of its values. The MGH Perfusion service provides diverse support across several clinical programs including: - Cardiopulmonary bypass support spanning the adult cardiac surgery realm including procedures such as pulmonary thromboendarterectomy with DHCA, complex ascending/arch/descending aortic reconstruction and adult congenital surgeries. - Intricate involvement with the implementation and hospital-wide support of short term and durable mechanical assist devices supporting a robust cardiac transplantation program. - Pre-operative and intra-operative circulatory support for heart, lung and liver transplant including an ex-vivo transport system operated by the MGH Perfusion service. - Collaboration with the MGH ECMO team throughout the institution and primary responsibility for ECMO management in the operating room setting. - Clinical education rotation site for three perfusion programs. Educating students is an important facet of our mission and integrated into our everyday workflow. - Four levels of on call duties split evenly over the team and are typicallylimited to one call shift per week plus one weekend per month. This position offers tremendous opportunities to develop a diverse clinical acumen while participating as a clinician across the spectrum of our profession within a singular institution.
