Patient Care: · Ability to explain complex diagnostic procedures to be performed to the patient and articulate how to be prepared for their exam · Ability to set up the room for the exams (GI or X-RAY) · Assist radiologists and technologists as necessary before, during and after exams · Assists with patient transport · Acquire and maintain knowledge of Radiation Safety, Hospital and Departmental Policies including Patient Identification Policy and HIPAA · Ensure patient comfort and safety Administrative responsibilities: · Proficient in EPIC (Including all ER PSCII duties) · Answer phone calls and utilize paging system · Understand department workflow Environment of Care: · Monitor and replenish the department’s stock and linen supplies · Maintains a clean work environment including radiographic equipment · Maintain knowledge of the location of emergency equipment, code carts and the procedure necessary to alert the Code Team and Rapid Response Team Interpersonal skills · Works in harmony with others and functions as a team member · Maintain professional, effective and constructive working relations and communication with departmental staff and hospital personnel · Achieves positive relationships with patients, families, visitors and other healthcare providers and contributes to a favorable public image of the overall hospital · Any other related duties as directed by the Technical and Operations Managers · Knowledge of universal precautions · Knowledge of Epic system · Knowledge of medical/radiology supplies · Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures · Knowledge of proper radiation safety · Knowledge of aseptic technique HS Diploma or GED required 1 year of healthcare experience is preferred
