NuCara Pharmacy & Infusion Center is looking for an experienced registered nurse with a minimum availability of 1-2 days per week open for patient care. Consistency of availability to particular day(s) per week is desired. Superior patient care is a must along with being a team-oriented member. We are a growing home infusion pharmacy with an infusion clinic looking for a ready, willing & able new member for our team!ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Administers infusion therapy to patients receiving specialty medications including antibodies & other biologics, antibiotics, iron products, etc.* Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of an advanced practice provider or physician.* Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems.* Performs phlebotomy of prescriber requested labs or collection per protocol.* Documents all elements of care accurately and completely.* Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific differences in the patient population including physiological and developmental differences unique to each group.* Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow.* Demonstrates knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.* Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider.* Serves as a resource person for the medical assistant(s).* Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching.* Demonstrates awareness of community resources available to patients and assists with referrals if necessary.* Follows OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste and any other material potentially infected with a bloodborne pathogen.* Maintains current knowledge of specialty infused medications by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.* Participates in professional development activities, competency & training requirements, and maintains professional affiliations.* Maintains patient confidentiality.Job Types: Part-time, PRN, Per diemPay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hourNuCara offers competitive wages and a 401(k) match.Physical Setting:* Clinic* OutpatientSchedule:* Day shift* Monday to FridayEducation:* Associate (Preferred)Experience:* Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:* BLS Certification (Preferred)* RN (Required)Employment contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening and background check.NuCara Pharmacy is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages minorities, females, individuals with disabilities and protected veterans to apply.
