You'll play a key role in working towards this goal as you offer professional guidance, aid in tax preparation, and clarify both technical and tax-related terms to our patrons. Excitingly, you'll also have a chance to guide the trajectory of one of our latest product lines, TurboTax Live Business, whilst being part of the #11 firm on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For.

We're currently looking for a highly driven individual with a background in business tax preparation, exceptional interpersonal skills, and an active, unrestricted credential such as CPA/EA or Practicing Attorney. Your role would be to assist our customers in completing their taxes using Intuit TurboTax Business products.

The chosen candidate will oversee the management of intricate business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. Ideally, we'd prefer someone with a deep understanding of federal and state tax regulations relevant to business and personal tax filing, along with considerable experience in preparing and filing both personal and business tax returns.

Skills and Requirements

We're looking for a candidate possessing significant business tax preparation expertise and comprehensive understanding of tax laws. This should be reflected in at least 3 recent years of experience in preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for a minimum of 20 clients/customers per season for pay, utilizing commercial tax preparation software.

Other requirements include:

- An active unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
- A minimum of 2 seasons of personal Tax Preparation experience, having prepared at least 30 tax returns per tax year in either a tax practice or retail setting for compensation.
- Bookkeeping experience, especially relating to books to tax preparation.
- Confidence preparing Business Tax returns, particularly for service industry customers.
- Readiness to acquire any state-related licensing, certification, or bonds, if needed.
- The possession of an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Ability to commit to working a minimum of 20 hours per week (minimum 4-hour shift increments) throughout the tax season.
- Familiarity with Circular 230.
- Technical proficiency, with a strong grasp of computer functioning and software.
- Stellar customer service capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adept problem-solving skills.
- The ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to secure a hardwired internet connection abiding by Intuit's Security criteria and a quiet workspace.

Interactions and Leadership

This remote, consumer-engaging role will see you deploying our advanced video communication tool (Smartlook) to communicate with customers. Your responsibilities will span across various areas, including providing tax guidance, handling full-service Business return preparation and signing, addressing product or software inquiries, tax calculations, and aiding the filing of tax extensions.

The cornerstone of your role will be driving high-quality customer interactions and creating an environment of trust through deep empathy for customers and solid knowledge and expertise in business tax preparation.

Using professional resources, government websites, and team expertise, you will find accurate answers for customers by translating complex information into easily understandable language. You are expected to adhere to defined practices, procedures, and company policy when troubleshooting and resolving customer tax advice and return preparation.

Other tasks include documenting customer interactions, persistently meeting company performance metrics, and participating in experimental testing and projects, as required.
