Caterpillar’s Electrification & Advanced Power Solutions (E&APS) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

Job Summary:

Join our Electrification & Advanced Power Solutions division to develop enterprise component advanced purchasing strategy in the areas of electrification, power and new energies. You will collaborate with procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, & engineering to drive make v buy component strategy, cost reduction, risk mitigation, value chain analysis, safety, and establishing quality requirements for E&APSD.

Job Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Build a strategic advanced purchasing roadmap for motors, inverters, chargers, power electronics and energy storage solutions and associated sub-components

  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to identify and negotiate agreements with new and existing suppliers

  • Analyze entire value chain and rationalize multi-source strategy for components

  • Collaborate with purchasing and engineering to rationalize existing supplier base through stratification, market analysis, supplier development, and supplier consolidation

  • Collaborate with engineering team early on in the development process to identify supply base strategy

  • Build the E&APSD source matrix in collaboration with purchasing

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university

  • 10+ years of purchasing/procurement experience/project purchasing

  • Direct experience with electrification/electronics/new energies/battery components

Additional Information:

  • This position will close on 06/11/2023 at 11:59PM.

  • Travel requirements minimum of 25%.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available.

  • This position is located in Mossville, IL, Michigan, Dallas, TX, Cary, NC OR Clayton, NC but alternative work locations near a Caterpillar facility may be considered.

  • This position is a hybrid role (3 days on-site/2 days off-site), providing flexibility and freedom to work from a location away from the office, while also enabling the opportunity to collaborate in person as needed.
