Our internationally recognized team of research experts have one goal - to make breakthroughs in the prevention and treatment of disease so that we all may live longer, healthier lives.Job SummaryMaintain a clean and tidy lab environment, perform varous tasks: picking up and delivering research packages and making simple solutions/prep for experiments. Assist with mouse breeding and genotyping. Assist lab manager with supply orders and stocking.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities to include but not limited to:Assist lab manager with supply orders and stocking. Pick up lab orders from main office and notify the lab of specific deliveries so research experiments are done in a timely manner. Work with administrative office to resolve discrepancies in orders and follow up on incorrect orders. Assist with cell culture. Prepare simple solutions. Prepare for experiments. Assist with mouse breeding/genotyping. Maintain clean lab benches, change bench paper, dust and wipe down equipment, check power status for all equipment, and ensure critical research items are not left on benches before leaving. Taking glassware for washing downstairs and picking up at end of day. Organizing glassware, chemicals, and books on shelves. Cleaning centrifuges and water baths. Filling tip boxes and tube containers and taking downstairs for autoclaving/pickup and stocking as appropriate. Filling flasks with broth and plates with agar for autoclaving and stocking. Ensuring all such reagents are dated and kept well-stocked for lab use. Organizing freezers and refrigerators, alerting lab members as to things that need discarding (old media, cells, etc) and scraping/thawing -20 and -80 freezers to minimize frost/snow buildup inside. Ensure labels on all refrigerator/freezers are updated. Fill liquid nitrogen dewars on a weekly basis arid provide support for lab members with dry ice and liquid nitrogen in smaller dewars, as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational an prioritization skills. Willingness and ability to work as a team member in a moderately sized lab. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn. Ability to maintain confidentiality, follow directions, and complete work and to meet deadlines.Shift/Salary/BenefitsShift: Days; Monday - Friday *Work outside of normal business hours may be required*Pay Grade: R6Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
